What message did the author of this cartoon intend to convey, exactly? Is this illustration meant to offer criticism on a specific person or incident, or a criticism of a type of person (which I’m assuming would be a liberal woman who chooses to engage in sex)? As far as I can tell, this is simply a vulgar drawing completely devoid of any editorial value.
Shock, The Observer has another incoherent cartoon that draws women as buffoons. I can’t even imagine what this cartoon is in response to or what it is mocking, but I know there is no point. Don’t worry.

A good indicator of someone’s intelligence is how much they learn from his or her previous mistakes. If the publishing of this cartoon proves anything it is that you are a dullard.
Shouldn’t the fact that you can’t face the consequences of putting your name to a cartoon (as was the case with the Vagina Monologues cartoon as well) demonstrate that it is inappropriate and offensive? Maybe you are just causing controversy to get more people to visit your website. I guess, in my case, that tactic worked. Congratulations.
I understand that this has been published in the Opinion section and that everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. I must say, however, that your opinion is confusing. I have read the accompanying article and the only opinion I can glean from this cartoon is that you think that women who insist on using contraception are hairy apes with big feet. Is that what you were trying to say, Anonymous? Or does it have something to do with your title, “Don’t drink and dive”? Are you advocating the separation of those two activities? Yes, we should drink, yes we should “dive,” but not at the same time? And when we are “diving,” should we or should we not use condoms? Or is that only when we are drinking and diving?
Do you see how this is just thoughtless?
I would like to know which editor has the ultimate power to approve these cartoons. I challenge them to step forward and take responsibility for this tasteless drawing.
